THREE Redlands kids have landed podium and runner-up finishes after jumping their way to a nationals sports competition at Melbourne.
The Little Athletics students competed in high and long jump events at the junior school tournament in November after outstanding performances at regionals earlier this year.
Will Degraaf scored second in ten-years boys’ high jump at nationals, reaching 1.43-metres, with Zephyr Martin also placing second in his event.
Zephyr jumped 1.69-metres in the boys’ high jump.
Daniela Hankey landed seventh position in the long jump for 12-year-old girls.
A spokesperson said all three trained with Redlands Little Athletics students at Cleveland District State High School.
“They train twice a week at Ormiston State School and then one night a week at Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre.
“Training has been going on since May getting them ready for school sports day which they then go to districts and then Met East then states.”
