MY KITCHEN Rules contestant Ruby Barrenechea was among more than 40 people who received their citizenship at the Redland City Australia Day citizenship ceremony on Saturday.
Ms Barrenechea, originally of Peru, lives at Capalaba and is a pilates instructor.
Deputy mayor Lance Hewlett officiated at the ceremony where 43 people from 13 countries received their Australian citizenship.
The new Australian citizens were from China, Colombia, Ecuador, England, Fiji, Germany, India, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, South Africa, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Joshua Walker and the Quandamooka Yulu-Burri-Ba dancers performed for the new citizens and their guests.
