HELPING to find a cancer cure could be as easy as signing up for Relay for Life.
The annual overnight walk will be held in the Redlands from May 25 to May 26.
Cancer Council Queensland chief executive Chris McMillan said 800 people had already registered for events at 31 locations this year.
“With a range of fun and entertaining activities on offer, as well as emotional and empowering ceremonies, Relay for Life truly is an experience not to be missed and we encourage people of all ages and fitness levels to join in,” she said.
“Taking the first step towards a cancer free future is as easy as getting your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours together, registering a team in your local Relay For Life event and fundraising for the cause.”
Ms McMillan said about $1.8 million was raised last year for Cancer Council Queensland through Relay for Life events.
The money would be used for cancer research, education programs and patient support services.
