A 42-YEAR-OLD man was punched and kicked by teenagers on Cleveland's Middle Street about 4.30pm on Thursday.

A police spokesman said the man was walking home from Raby Bay when he was confronted by five to seven juveniles near the corner of Middle and Wynyard streets.
"They hit and punched him," the spokesman said.
"He fell over and then they kicked him."
The man sustained small cuts on his arm and hands.
Two months ago in the same vicinity, a man was punched in the head and about 30 youths threatened to hit people about 5.30pm on a Monday.
A police spokesman said at the time that a group of young people and an older man were seen fighting.
"A witness saw the man being punched in the head," he said.
About the same time, police received a report of about 30 youths in Middle Street.
"They were threatening to bash people," he said.
"It is also alleged that they stole alcohol from a bottle shop."
It was not known whether the incidents were linked.
With regard to the latest incident, the spokesman said the group had run away after it became apparent that there was a witness to the assault.
