THERE are not many people with more bowls experience than Terry Latchford.
At 100 years of age, Mr Latchford has seven decades of experience under his belt and has no plans to retire in the near future.
Playing with the Salford Bowlers at Victoria Point's Salford Waters Retirement Village twice a week, he is the oldest competitor, but his age has not slowed him down.
Salford Bowlers convenor John Howes said Mr Latchford was an impressive bowler.
"(He is) very active and can hold his own with all of the other bowlers," he said.
"He's already won two games today."
Mr Latchford picked up lawn bowls as a young man in England before moving to Australia in 1952.
"It was something to do and a way of meeting people," he said.
"It beats looking at four walls."
In his heyday, he played competitively, but said these days he chose to play a more relaxed, social game.

His top tip for players starting out was to keep their eye on the prize and stay on the ball.
"Concentration (is key), definitely," he said
"Find out what the game needs and then you just focus."
While Mr Latchford is the oldest Salford Bowler, four other members are more than 90 years old.
The group gathers for a chat and a bowl every Tuesday and Friday.
