ATHLETES from YMCA Victoria Point and Premier Gymnastics have built on their success at May's Australian Gymnastics Championships with state club wins and selections in national touring teams.
YMCA artistic gymnast Jayde Beutel has secured a spot on the Australian team to tour New Zealand in October.
Beutel was one of only eight athletes selected for a week-long tour in Auckland.
It came after she won silver at the national championships in Melbourne.
"To be chosen for the team you must finish within the top eight gymnasts from all over the country over the two days of (nationals)," she said.
"Your overall scores are combined and then it is worked out so the gymnasts chosen must be consistent throughout all apparatuses (beam, bars, vault and floor) over the two days."
Beutel will tour for a week in Auckland, with two days of competition.
Premier Gymnastics' Olivia Doherty was also named on the team.
Their selection comes as fellow Redlands gymnasts returned from the Sunshine Coast after a weekend of friendly competition between clubs.
Athletes from Premier Gymnastics and YMCA Victoria Point competed in Gymnastics Queensland's State Club Championships at Caloundra between June 28 and July 2.
Competing against more than 36 other Queensland clubs, the team from Premier Gymnastics - co-captained by Rachael Chiang from Birkdale - came second in the state.

Premier Gymnastics director Nicki Robbins said the club's success was due to athletes and coaches' teamwork and dedication.
She said the competition had featured athletes as young as eight competing in their first state event as well as the club's more experienced gymnasts, including some who had travelled to Melbourne for nationals earlier this year.
Athletes will now prepare for national club championships in September.
