REDLANDS Tigers will run an introductory cricket program for girls aged five to 15 in September.
The program will run over four consecutive Sundays starting on September 1 and will teach girls new to the game the fundamentals of batting, bowling and fielding.
Redlands Tigers women's coach Luke Haegel said the focus would be on fun and enjoyment.
"We want all girls to enjoy the experience and continue playing cricket at Redlands Tigers so there will be lots of games and ball skill work," he said.
Redlands Tigers recently entered into an agreement with Wynnum-Manly that will see the clubs combine to enter a team in the women's first grade competition this season.
The new arrangement will see the best female talent from each club play in the state's top grade for the first time.
Haegel said the program would introduce participants to the new female cricket pathway, which begins with the Heat Girls League and culminates in first and second grade.
He said Tigers players Clodagh Ryall and Delyse Laycock were shining examples of what could be achieved through the club's female program.
"Clodagh came to Tigers in the very first season as a 14-year-old and now she's in the Queesland under 18s," he said.
"She has also represented the Queensland Indigenous team in the Imparja Cup.
"Delyse came three years ago as well and will be playing first grade this season.
"She is also involved with the Heat where she trains as a net bowler."
The program, which runs from 9am to 11am each week, costs $30 and includes a bucket hat.
All playing equipment will be provided.
Redlands Tigers Cricket Club is located at 347-371 Birkdale Rd, Wellington Point.
