INTERNATIONAL 2019 guitarist of the year and Sheldon resident Dylan Reavey has shared the stage with more than 60 young Sheldon College players.
This month, Mr Reavey and the students serenaded the audience at a school assembly with a rendition of Sweet Home Alabama. Several students, teachers and Mr Reavey each stole a few moments of fame to perform solos.
Mr Reavey said he was delighted to perform with a group of students who looked up to him.
"It was both humbling and rewarding to be able play on stage at a school with such young players who also share the same passion as myself," he said.
"It's cool to see so many students enjoy making music the same way that I do."
He left young players with a few words of advice.
"Always strive for perfection and devote time and energy into what you love, and you will be able to reap the rewards."
The 21-year-old was shortlisted for the elite Guitarist of the Year title after he submitted a video of himself playing an original composition entitled King Aura.
Reavey - who has a bachelor's degree in jazz guitar and works at Binary Music - won a PRS John Mayer signature guitar.
