SIRROMET Wines is through to the final round of the 2019 Queensland Tourism Awards.
The iconic Mount Cotton winery missed out on a placing at last year's award ceremony, with the Bundaberg Rum Distillery taking home the industry's major prize.
They have again been nominated in the tourism wineries, distilleries and breweries category, where gold, silver and bronze awards will be handed out to the three best businesses in Queensland.
Springwood MP Mick de Brenni said he was backing Sirromet to seal the deal this year.
"Sirromet is an iconic local venue that attracts visitors to south-east Queensland from around the world," he said.
"Our local community is incredibly proud that the 152 team members hard work is paying off.
"We all want to see this very professional local business given the recognition it deserves."
Mr de Brenni said Sirromet's staff were committed to giving tourists and locals the best food and wine experience in south-east Queensland.
"I wish the best of luck to Sirromet for their commitment in striving for excellence and showcasing Mt Cotton as the jewel in Queensland's crown," he said.
"...Tourism operators are the backbone of Queensland's $27 billion tourism industry, which supports more than 236,000 jobs."
The winner will be announced at the Queensland Tourism Awards gala ceremony held at the Sunshine Coast's Novotel Twin Waters Resort on Friday, November 8.
Sirromet Wines is also a renowned music venue and will play host to Cold Chisel in February 2020 for A Day on The Green.
