TWO Redlands College students will take to the stage among Queensland's top young actors in a production of Shakespeare's As You Like It.
Year 12 students Brendan Kater and Mia Johnstone were selected to perform after being named finalists at Queensland Youth Shake Fest, held in October 2019.
Mia placed third in the state finals for dance, while Brendan took out third place in the monologue category.
Performing together in the duologue category, the pair came second.
They will take to the stage on January 17 and 18 following a week of intensive training with 28 other performers from across the state.
Both students were excited to kick off their final year of schooling with a bang.
"Being able to bring a story to life for an audience is a privilege and an absolute joy," Brendan said.
As You Like It features romance, comedy and disguise as it follows the love story of Rosalind and Orlando in the Forest of Arden.
Producer Shake and Stir Theatre Company provides workshops, school touring and professional productions to Queensland and Australia.
In 2020, the company will hold its eighth Shake Fest.
Other Redlands College students recognised in last year's Shake Fest finals included Laura Ashley Menla for costume design and Susan Shanyn-Millar for photography.
As You Like It will be performed on Friday and Saturday at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Fortitude Valley. Tickets are available online.
