First grade was 3/56 until a partnership between returning Heat representative, James Bazley (48) and Queensland U/19 batsman Dylan Kritzinger (40) began to steady the ship.

The chips did not fall sixth grade's way, bowled out for 74 with wests 1/66 at the end of play. But they will have another chance to win the second innings.
The women's second grade side were dismissed for 160 from 40 overs against Sandgate-Redcliffe.
