STAR Community Service vehicles have been fitted with antibacterial devices as the organisation takes precautions to keep drivers and elderly clients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The device sprays an antibacterial formula which is said to protect against airborne pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites.
STAR general manager Patsy Wilshire said the organisation was taking a calm, calculated and planned approach to the situation to ensure they could continue essential client services.

"We want to ensure that our clients, volunteers and staff are cared for and safe during this unprecedented time," she said.
"We have a pandemic response management team led by an experienced emergency response manager. Their function is to coordinate our pandemic plan, putting necessary precautions in place to ensure against the spread of COVID-19.
"Our approach will always be in-line with expert advice and please be assured that STAR is following the advice of the Chief Medical Office and the Department of Health."
Ms Wilshire thanked STAR volunteers for their commitment to clients and urged them to reach out if they needed assistance.
She said infection control measures had been adopted by all staff members who offered direct service to clients.
Flexible work arrangements had also been introduced, allowing office staff to work at home where possible.
