THE LNP has announced it will spend a further $500,000 in the Redlands if it wins the October election, with candidate Henry Pike announcing plans to fast-track a high school at Redland Bay.
Mr Pike, who is running for the seat of Redlands, said the investment would go towards a delivery plan and get the project shovel-ready.
He believed the government did not want to open a high school in Redland Bay until 2041 and said time was running out to plan for population growth.
"We aren't just facing a significant rise in student numbers, we're also facing the real risk of no suitable sites remaining in Redland Bay," Mr Pike said.
"This funding will get us to the point where we can give the green light for a new high school that would service the surrounding suburb and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands."

Shadow Education Minister Jarrod Bleijie visited Redland Bay State School on Tuesday where it was announced that $500,000 would be committed to a delivery plan for a new high school, should the LNP win the election.
He said Labor were pushing the capacity limits at Victoria Point State High School and only the LNP were committed to doing the necessary work and planning for the future.
But Redlands MP Kim Richards said a group had already been set up to discuss things like population forecasts and enrolment data.
She told the Redland City Bulletin earlier this month that the state government had invested more than $35 million in the last two years on new school buildings and upgrades.
"I love our community and I know that others do too, which is why Springwood MP Mick de Brenni and I have established the Southern Redlands Future Schools Community Working Group," Ms Richards said.
"(It) brings together local stakeholders to ensure the Palaszczuk Government continues to deliver first-class educational facilities for the Redlands as it grows into the future.
"Every child deserves a world class education and in Redlands, the Palaszczuk Government is delivering new halls, libraries, robotics centres, and importantly, air conditioning for all Redlands Schools, through a $50 million job-creating investment."
Cleveland District State High School is the campus nearest to capacity in Redlands, with enrolments sitting at 81 per cent.
That is followed by Alexandra Hills State High School at 77 per cent and Victoria Point at 75 per cent, where 1302 students are enrolled in the 1733 capacity school.
Mr Pike said the LNP's commitment was an important step towards securing a high school for Redland Bay.
He did not announce how soon after the election the public could expect it to open, should the LNP form government, but said it would be an immediate priority.
