THE race for Cr Paul Golle's Division 3 seat is set to be a hotly contested one, with another candidate announcing their desire to run at the local government election in March.
Debbie Stone, a P&C committee president of 10 years at St Rita's, said she was throwing her hat in the ring because she wanted council budget figures to be made more accessible to the public.
"I really want for information not to be manipulated and to bring transparency to the community," she said.
"Looking on the council website, to the average person, there is not accessible forward estimated expenditure budget plans.
"If you look on the Brisbane City Council website you've got budget plans for 2023. I am not saying that council doesn't have them, what I am saying is we don't have access to them.
"I think it is really important for not just rate payers but everybody that lives in the Redlands to have an idea of where their future is going with expenditures and their rate money and what is planned to be spent.
"That gives them the opportunity to ask questions like 'is there something that has been left out?'."
Ms Stone said council needed to be reviewed from a business point of view, with audits completed and expenditure scrutinised.
Like fellow candidate Lacey Healey, Ms Stone said she had also experienced unsavoury dealings with local MPs since announcing her council tilt.
She said it had occurred despite the fact she was running independently and had no affiliations to any political parties.
"At the end of the day, I just reassess and look at my core values," Ms Stone said.
"I am not going to run a race where I will banter back because I believe my attributes and past contributions to the community will outshine what I will do."
Her first move upon entering council if elected would be to speak to the community and listen to issues that were important to her constituents.
She said her past roles in organisations like St Rita's and Victoria Point Sharks Australian Rules club, where her husband is junior president, would hold her in good stead to represent people living in Cleveland and Thornlands.
"I would like to connect with the community first and thank them for their vote towards me if I was elected," Ms Stone said.
"I really like to serve under the radar because to me serving isn't about getting acknowledgement it is doing it with a gracious heart."
Ms Stone will be up against incumbent councillor Paul Golle and businessman Terry Huckfield when the poll booths open on March 28.
She confirmed that she had completed the state government's mandatory candidate course.
