This year the Old SchoolHouse Gallery will celebrate more than 30 years of fostering Redland arts and history as well as nurturing, promoting and educating artists by offering them opportunities to learn, exhibit and sell their work.
To coincide with this celebration the gallery is delighted to be the first art group or gallery to be invited to exhibit at the Brisbane Square Library, George Street Brisbane.
The exhibition Iconic Redlands showcases a selection works by members and can be viewed on the second floor of the library every day until the end of August.
Additional celebration events planned include a mural on the shed and an art market.
You are invited to help create our mural. Workshops are planned for Sunday 10 and 17 October from 10am to 12pm at the gallery.
Learn how to create your own stencil and use your stencil and other items to create your own painting to take home, as well as leaving your mark on our shed.
There is no charge, however bookings are essential. Email Hilary Wakeling at hilarywakeling@bigpond.com to book your place.
The Art Market will be held on Sunday, October 31, with fine art and artisan gifts, food, entertainment for the family and the unveiling of the mural.
If you are interested in having a stall at our art market, email info@oldschoolhousegallery.org.au.
Due to the recent lockdown the exhibition Life From The Earth is postponed until December. However the gallery as always is awash with colorful interesting original artworks to enjoy.
Opening hours are 9.30am to 4.30pm Thursday to Sunday.
