AN 18-year-old Dunwich man has been charged after allegedly using another person's credit card to buy drinks at the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel.
The man was caught in the act on pub CCTV cameras and will appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court charged with stealing and fraud offences.
Police allege a wallet was taken from the hotel's pokies room where it had been left behind by another patron at 10.30pm on Saturday, October 24.
The 18-year-old is alleged to have bought drinks with the victim's credit card on several occasions throughout the night.
Police were alerted after the victim discovered unathorised transactions on his banking app.
The wallet was found in the hotel the next day.
Sergeant Darren Scanlan said it was yet another case of a young person risking their future for the sake of a few dollars.
"These are serious criminal offences and I hope they learn from their mistake," he said.

Sergeant Scanlan said police would be conducting regular breath tests.

It came after police caught the man driving erratically on Flinders Beach at 12.05pm on Tuesday, October 5.
