CAPALABA FC is aiming for its most successful charity fundraising event yet when their annual Pink Day Weekend makes its long-awaited return to John Fredericks Park this weekend.
The two-day event, which raises money for different cancer charities, was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid restrictions but returns just in time for its tenth anniversary this year.
The club is determined to make up for lost time by setting an ambitious $15,000 target for the fundraiser and are inviting the local Redlands community to show their support.
Activities are designed for the whole family and include raffles, cake stall and cupcake making, fashion market, face-painting and a tie-die stall.

Among the football-related fun will be appearances by former Socceroo and Brisbane Roar captain Matt McKay and Matildas stars Amy Chapman and Larissa Crummer.
The club's coaches are even putting themselves at the mercy of their charges in the chilly winter weather by participating in the dunk-a-coach water tank game.
Capalaba FC president Shaun McAney said the enthusiasm of the club's more than 800 members had seen the event grow year-on-year and raise over $50,000 for cancer charities since its first run in 2010.
"We started this event when a club member's mother was diagnosed with cancer and since then it has grown from a single day event to encompass the whole weekend," he said.
"The amazing work of our volunteers enables the club to bring the local community together with club members and raise some much-needed funds to battle this terrible disease.
"We see ourselves as more than just a football club. Events like this not only raise money for a very worthy cause, but also build our culture, spirit and connection with the wider community."
Someone who knows the value of fundraising for cancer charities is eight-year-old Chanelle Webster, a leukemia survivor and niece to several long-time Bulldogs members.
"When you are personally affected by cancer, you realise how important these charities are for family's going through very difficult times," she said.
"I just want to give a huge thank you to everyone at Capalaba FC for putting this event together to raise money for these amazing charities."
Capalaba FC's Pink Day Weekend runs from Saturday, July 31 to Sunday, August 1 at John Fredericks Park, located on Old Cleveland Road, Capalaba.
The club's in-form men's and women's National Premier Leagues teams will also be in action on Saturday and Sunday evening, respectively, with both sides set to don pink kits for the occasion.
